Thai Massage workshops with Ananda provide an in depth study of Thai Massage with an emphasis on hands on learning. This ensures that students who complete the Basic Foundation Certification Program can give a wonderful, complete whole body Thai Massage.

The Basic Foundation training covers all of the five traditional positions used in Thai massage via three Thai massage workshops: Supine & Prone, Side Lying, Inverted & Seated and Putting It All Together – Refinement. Students who successfully complete these three Thai massage trainings are given Basic Certification. Advanced Certification is given to those students who complete the Advanced Techniques in the Five Positions training.

Note: The following workshops: Supine & Prone and Side Lying, Inverted & Seated, can be take in either order.  However, the Putting It All Together – Refinement workshop requires having taken both of the Basic Foundation trainings – i.e. Supine & Prone as well as Side Lying, Inverted & Seated.

Continuing Education (CEs)
There are two kinds of CEs (continuing education hours) – NCBTMB and NY State. CEs are needed by licensed massage therapists and Yoga Alliance registered yoga teachers in order to renew their license/registration. NY State LMTs need NY State CEs. Out of state LMTs need NCBTMB CEs. NY State LMTs need 36 CEs over a three year period for license renewal. YA registered yoga teachers need CEs to renew their registration, but they do not need an actual CE certificate as YA currently uses an honor system so you can just report on their website how many CEs you obtained from your training. Thai Massage Workshop Make Up Classes
It generally takes one hour of private class to cover three hours of workshop material. Missed classes must be made up before the next workshop class. During makeup classes, only the actual Thai Massage practical material will be covered. Make up classes are $90/hour.

Costs
Our courses may appear more expensive to you than other courses, but remember, our 33 hour courses are longer than the usual 30 hour courses. When you figure out our per hour cost at $16/hr, you’ll find that you are getting more training for less cost. When you leave our workshop, you will be able to confidently give a very complete Thai Massage in whatever positions you have learned.
