Thai Massage Sacred Bodywork Certification Trainings with Ananda

  • provide an in depth study of traditional Thai Massage.
  • are grounded in hands on practice, rather than theory.
  • are kept small so that students receive individualized attention.
  • include meditation, prayer, yoga, and mindful listening as an integral part of the program.
  • include information of Thai massage’s cultural, religious and historical background.
  • provide a loving and supportive community where we learn from and with each other.
  • enable students to be able to give a dynamic, comprehensive, full body Thai massage in the five positions.
  • are all taught by Ananda, who has over three decades of experience as a practitioner and teacher.

The Thai Massage Sacred Bodywork Certification program consists of:

Basic Training Certification Program – 74 CEs NCBTMB and NY State approved.

Advanced Training Certification Program – 54 CEs NCBTMB and NY State approved

The Basic Training Certification program is four and a half weekends long. Students learn many techniques in supine, prone, side lying, inverted and seated postions. By the end of the program, students are able to give a two to two and a half hour Thai massage.

The Advanced Training Certification program is three weekends long. Students learn additional techniques in the five positions thus expanding their Thai massage repertoire. By the end of the training, students have enough material to give a three to four hour Thai massage.

Continuing Education (CEs)
There are two kinds of CEs (continuing education hours) available. Both are under the auspices of NCBTMB. However, one is for those from out of state or for yoga practitioners and the other is  for LMTs in NY State. CEs are needed by licensed massage therapists and Yoga Alliance registered yoga teachers in order to renew their license/registration. NY State LMTs need 36 CEs over a three year period for their massage license renewal. YA registered yoga teachers need CEs to renew their registration, but they do not need an actual CE certificate as YA currently uses an honor system so you can just report on their website how many CEs you obtained from your training.
